christine Christine Macdonald Trainer
Christine is Bark-O-Lounge's very own resident trainer, who believes positive reinforcement helps shape the desired behavior in our dogs. Training strengthens the bond between owner and dog. It helps provide leadership and guidance for our dogs. Owning a dog is a responsibility, but it should also be a lifelong friendship and joy.

Christine has worked with rescue dogs for most of her life. She is the current owner of two “second chance” dogs. One was a stray from North Carolina that was rescued through Save a Dog. With training and patience this hand-shy dog named Buddy Love became a Therapy dog. Her other dog was one year old when she was adopted and she too is a Therapy dog. Both dogs are involved in obedience training and agility and sometimes Christine will even dance with her dogs, (and judging by the picture below even the cat is trained to sit!)

Christine is on the board of Pets and People and demonstrates therapy dog techniques for prospective volunteers. Pets and People is a non- profit organization that offers pet-assisted therapy to nursing homes, special needs facilities and hospitals. Christine and Buddy Love have made over 200 visits to nursing homes.

As a mother of four children and the owner of three cats and two dogs, Christine understands that juggling family life and dog obedience may be difficult, but is ultimately rewarding. Her philosophy is that consistency is a key to dog training. Working with your dog should be fun and rewarding.
